Tupac Shakur at Madame Tussaud’s New York

Two key 1990s rappers who were murdered way too early.
Tupac Shakur is in the foreground; born in East Harlem and later based out of Oakland, he was shot to death in 1996 at age 25 in Las Vegas.
In the background is Notorious B.I.G. (Christopher George Latore Wallace), another New York native. He was the East Coast standard-bearer in the East Coast – West Coast hip-hop feud of the time; he was killed in a Los Angeles drive-by shooting in early 1997 at age 24. Sean "Puffy" Combs eulogized him a few months later with his song "I’ll Be Missing You," which sampled The Police’s "Every Breath You Take" heavily.
